08PNGC-Emmett, Brian (Pinot Noir)

Whereas the 2007 Split Rock had a nice tannin backbone from the start, the 2008 is going to need 16 months in barrel to bring enough tannin to the table to balance out the fantastic acid. As of last barrel tasting when we finalized the blend, it's showing a nice ruby color, a very lively nose with cherries and blueberries, a hint of oak and cedar and a great mouthfeel to round it all out.
