07PNGC-Emmett, Brian (Pinot Noir)

Our inaugural vintage. 2007 was the year we decided to educate ourselves, in a very hands-on manner, about the art and craft of winemaking. We were aiming for something balanced with nice fruit components and some good acidity, so we kept the fermentation relatively cool and aged the wine in 33% new oak to pick some light tannins and texture without being overpowering.

2007 was a great year all around, and the wine turned out showing some nice dark fruit with a good acid core, very typical of Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir. This wine should develop in the bottle nicely over the next several years.
