La Encantada Vineyard was planted in 2000 by Richard Sanford, the founding father of Santa Rita Hills AVA! Uniquely located on the Western edge of the AVA, providing a cooler place for the grapes to rest. The unique East-West hills allowing the AVA to be open to the cool breeze of the Pacific Ocean. On a clear day you can see the Pacific Ocean as a magnificent backdrop to the vineyard it self.
