There's an old adage that says, "When wine enlivens the heart, may friendship surround the table," and that's exactly what happened as the San Diego county contingent of Crushpad winemakers met last week at a local restaurant for some wining and dining and to showcase our Crushpad wines.
We pulled corks from '05 Grace, a white Rhone blend; '04 Guateque Rancho Ontiveros Vineyard Pinot Noir & '05 Guateque Bien Nacido Vineyard Pinot Noir; and '04 Flying Wine Cellars Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. All the wines were drinking well that night and of course, it's much more fun to enjoy them with food and friends. Dinner was excellent, the conversation lively and everyone had a great time: many kudos were passed along with the wine. I'm sure we'll do it again, since we have more varietals and vintages to bottle!
