The honest reason my wife and I "justified" our Crushpad wine was that we were creating a marketing tool for our recently acquired Sonoma rental property. We love everything about the Sonoma lifestyle and were excited to make the ultimate manifestation of Sonoma for our guests: Sonoma wine. We agonized about our options. We wanted to make a red becaue it would give us a longer '"shelf life" for the wine. It had to be a reflection of the county. We ended up making a "Los Madres" Syrah with 2% Sonoma viognier to soften the taste and add some fragrance. We wanted our wine to be accesable and ready to drink. The 2004 Los Madres Syrah fit the bill.
If you are looking for a Sonoma getaway, take a look at our Petites Maisons property. We are located 1 mile off the square on the east side. When you walk (or bikeride) to the square you pass Ravenswood on the right and Sebastini on the left. Petite Maison featues two cottages on a beautiful, secluded half acre on 7th Steet East with a large pool/spa and fire pit. The accomations are perfect for two or three couples or a girls weekend. We love shopping at the fantastic Sonoma Market for groceries and then putting together an outdoor feast that includes grilling something like Sonoma lamb chops on the BBQ and dining al fresco under the big walnut tree.
As a bonus, with every rental you will receive a bottle of Petites Maisons 04 Los Madres Syrah (bottled by Crushpad). We will do anything we can to accomodate fellow Crushpad brethern and we hope to hear from you.
We are now seriously consiering our next offering of a great Sonoma red (via Crushpad). If you have suggestions, we want to hear your thoughts. My wife is not a big zin drinker so we are leaning toward a tasty Sonoma pinot for our second Crushpad offering.
