In case you haven't heard, the Murphy Goode Winery is having a contest to select a "wine lifestyle correspondent" for a 6-month gig as their social media maven. I've been making wines at Crushpad for 3 years and head up the Rhone Wrangler group, so hope you'll watch my audition video (listed as Scott from Berkeley, CA) and support a fellow Crushpad winemaker with your vote!

It's easy--just go to http://www.areallygoodejob.com/video-view.aspx?vid=bXFWIMMS-1Q and fill in your email address on the right. If you have more than one email, you can cast a vote using each address--and if you are time-challenged you don't even have to watch the video. Yes, the video is a little hard to hear because Crushpad was really noisy the day we shot it. So if you can't make it out, here's what I said:

"Hi. I’m Scott Wren and I’d be thrilled to be the Murphy Goode wine lifestyle correspondent. Professionally, I work as a focus group moderator and a writer. I use online social media frequently and really enjoy this technology. For fun, I’ve made wine with friends here at Crushpad in San Francisco for several years. I got into wine about 10 years ago because it’s a wonderful everyday pleasure—all about friends, hanging out and enjoying it with my favorite foods. I think there's a lot of people want to learn about wine and they definitely want to have fun doing it. Choose me, and you’ll get a wine lifestyle correspondent who believes that the wine lifestyle isn’t about status, it’s about soul."

I think everyone making wine at Crushpad shares an enthusiasm for wine and values being a part of this amazing community. For me, the Murphy Goode gig feels like another way to help demystify the world of wine, connect people, and provide a alternative to all the snob stuff.

Cheers!
