Time to start a blog...

I guess its time to start a blog. Ricca and I have enjoyed the deep, ruby colored nectar of the gods for many years.
What started off as a way to kill some time and have some fun has turned into a business, Hopefully a profitable business but if we break even and can drink some good wine who's complaining.

We have concentrated on red wines. I like them balance, silky smooth with a distinct character so when you taste it you know where it is from and what it is. I am not a huge fan of overly oaky wines, I like the grape to be the showcase. Ricca, loves a big young, fruity, tannic bomb that can pucker your face and have you grabbing for some water after you are done.

Our 2008's, will be His and Hers. My wine (His) will represent what I want to bring out in the grapes and hopefully when done be as sublime as the last barrel tasting we had. Ricca will make (Hers) over the top I am sure Napa can pump out some gigantic wines, this will follow that trend.

The previous Riccabella wines have been a compromise, a blend of our two styles and personalities. Perhaps we may blend them in the end but who know. They say "the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts" Like a marriage I suppose. Maybe we will call the blend "Marriage".
