Anyone out there need an additional member for a split barrel of pinot or syrah? I'm new here, so I'm not too familiar with how the spilt works. Let me know if you are looking for another...
It appears Eric is also interested in the Alder Springs Syrah. Have you or your group done anything? If you are interested, I will contact crushpad to see what we need to do to adopt the barrel.

I want in on the Alder Springs 2007. We tasted some samples and it is going to be exceptional wine. I was planning to tell my group about it. Let me know.

If you are still interested, I think we have to form a group for that barrel, however, I am new so will need guidance on starting a group for the Alder Springs Syrah.
I too am very interested, but alas, I'm a Canadian. I've asked for clarification on my "joining" a shared barrel and have yet to hear back from Admin here...
But that said, I'd love to share either a Pinot or Syrah!
If anyone can elighten me on this sharing and how it works too - that'd be swell!
Hi Jim, It sounds like it depends where you live in Canada as to how steep the import fees are but it looks like it can be a pretty steep duty that you'll pay for shipping across the border.
Hate to bring bad news but that's what I know at this point...
I am trying to do a barrel of Pinot Noir (Doctors Vineyard). I have about 7 cases I still need to allocate to move forward. If you're interested please let me know. The group is "A Simon & James Pinot Noir". Thanks,
Brad
I am assembling (a bit late in the game) a group for a Santa Lucia Higlands Pinot Noir. I need to get about 5-7 more cases allocated in order to move forward. Please let me know if you are interested! The group is A Simon & James Pinot Noir.
I'm dying to make some wine and am a fervent pinot lover, (pre Sideways! :))so your group caught my eye. Do you have any cases left?
My husband and I really want to join a group and we have two other couples who are interested as well. Could you fill me in on what winemaking decisions are left and what role the group members play in that?
Good news--I have about 5 cases left (with people expressing interest but not paying yet). We are planning on meeting with the winemaker next week to finalize the wine plan, and the grapes are due between Sept 8-16th. I have done a little work on the wine plan in the top section (I think you can see it on the group page). Since we haven't had a chance to finalize the wine plan yet, anyone who can make it to that event will be able to participate. Everyone will also be invited/encouraged to come to the crushing/sorting/stemming event when the grapes come in. I am going to try to schedule all events in the evening on weekdays or weekend days, so as many people can come as possible--that said because there are several participants it won't be feasible for me to try to coordinate schedules. Additionally we are somewhat at the mercy of Crushpad for when the grapes come in and when we can schedule things.
I am planning on presenting several options and taking input on the label from everyone, and probably do some sort of voting, based on number of cases (so the people with the most $ committed have the biggest input). If you, your husband and your friends want your own label, I think Crushpad allows you to do that, but it's an extra $850 I think.
Feel free to let me know if you have more questions. If not, by all means join the group and request allocations! We're getting down to the wire, and I think everyone is getting excited!
