Rat Packer taking over Seattle

It looks like Sarah Munson and her business partner Allison have hit a home run with their new Wine bar in Seattle. For any of you up that way, stop through and give us a report. Considering the fast approaching harvest, I think taking last Friday off was my summer vacation. Maybe I can hit Seattle and plop down in from of that fireplace when the rains move in after harvest.

Congrats Sarah and Allison.

Local Press for the Local Vine

I went to the opening party for The Local Vine on Thursday night: Very, very cool. In case you've been out of the loop, this new Belltown wine bar is so hot right now, you can almost see the smoke. With small plates designed by the much-praised Jason Wilson of Crush and nearly 100 by-the-glass choices (some clocking in at $5, which is good news to me), I can see why. Throw in free Wi-Fi, a cool interior with blonde wood and a fireplace, and you've just created the next living room for the Belltown scenesters.

I live in the neighborhood

I live in the neighborhood and The Local Vine is quickly my favorite hangout. Yummy offerings here, but money can go quickly! I like that the friendly staff will give you a taste of (about?!) anything you ask for before you plunk down your credit card.

Cool. It's great to see how

Cool. It's great to see how this has come together. They seem totally dedicated to doing it right from the very start. And geting a couple tastes before you pop for a glass at a wine bar or restaurant has always made me feel lke they deserve the per glass price because it's something you know you will like.

They sell wine to take with you as well, right?

Well, not open and wrapped in a paper bag, you know, lke a wine shop... what are the open container laws up there?Smile
