Body is a term describing the textural sensations of viscosity and density in the mouth. Wine can range from a thin watery feeling to a heavy and rich liquid that leaves a mouth-coating sensation similar to fats in food. More viscous and dense wines are said to have a full body, while less dense wines are said to be thin. Suspended solids in the wine are a main factor in determining how thin or full a wine is sensed as being.
