Not a wine geek yet, but working to get there. I really hadn't tried much Pinot Noir until I joined the RatPack. I'm a housing manager, Army Reservist, father, semi-pro musician (with 2 small CDs!), pretty good amateur photographer, etc.
Favorite Wines:
Oh, if you forced me to pick one thing all the time, I'd pick a Zin-Cab or Zin-Merlot blend - or something more complex. I think blending can add good body and complexity to the vino. But what I really like is just exploring the realm of wine - the breadth and depth of the grapes and appelations. I enjoy small local wine festivals or wineries. I've been to 3 New Mexico wine fests, and just got done visiting a group of small Virginia wineries. It's fun finding those small-run gems. Oh - and I grew up on German wines; for pure enjoyment I really love a Rheinhessen Spatlese or Auslese.
