The Potrero Hill and Dogpath community crush project is getting their grapes from Doctors Vineyard in the Santa Lucia Highlands. Director of Vineyard Operations for Hahn Estates, Andy Mitchell, took time to walk us through the vineyard to get a look at the grapes mid-season.

Steve Williams came into Crushpad to sort his Syrah grapes from the Stolpman Vineyard. His friend Mark Christenson couldn't make it, but Steve discussed their reasons for going with the Stolpman Syrah, as well as the next best thing to owning your own vineyard.

Dmitri Lissin couldn't make it, but 6 other Durect employees made it to Crushpad to sort their Zinfandel from the Beatty Ranch Vineyard. They told us what they love about the process, what they're looking for in their wine, and the pressures of representing the rest of their department.

Joe Fahrner, Jim Calhoun, and Craig Stanford came down to Crushpad for the pressing of their Cabernet Sauvignon from Vineyard X. They shared how Crushpad has made winemaking more approachable and the four barrels they're making. It's just a hobby...for now.

Bently Luneau and Manuel Gotera Jr. came in to press some of their Destination Valley Zinfandel and Merlot. While they were here they talked about the learning curve, Crushpad, and smooth, elegant wine.
