Stellar Cabernet from Napa Valley's Oak Knoll
Rafael Vineyard used to be simple pastureland, and now as a vineyard, it produces great Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. The temperatures in this vineyard are cooler due to the Oak Knoll location in the southern section of Napa Valley. This southern end of the valley is heavily influenced by the fog and wind off San Pablo bay. These grapes in a typical year will easily see a week or more of extra hang time since the ripening happens more slowly here than in northern Napa. Vineyard Manager jim Decker gives us the details.
